  • Vivoactive

I got first review with 1-star. Good start :)
Comment said that Vivoactive restarts every time after leaving the app.
I can't reproduce it at all on my Vivoactive.
Could you (or anyone else) confirm that you have errors also? (I can't reply to comment due to problems on Garmin site)
And also please specify the version of firmware/ConnectIQ SDK on your devices.

    Thanks in advance!
  • Added support for Fenix 3 HR and D2 Bravo
  • 1.0.2 - Added support for Vivoactive HR. Fixed bug with updating signal quality icon. Updated char factory for Vivoactive.
I'm going to add some video with the workflow of app, dedicated to Perseid meteor shower which I'll meet in near mountains. Will be soon.

    * please restart your watch after update to prevent errors

How do you actually save a location name? When I use "Save Current" I'm presented with the screen to create a location name, can use the screen to create a name, but I haven't figured out how to actually save the name and move on. I'm using a Vivoactive (non-HR). Thanks, and thanks for what seems to be a great and very useful app (once I figure out how to save a location name...)
  • Hi

To input location name I use standard Picker for those devices which doesn't have keyboard control.
So on vivoactive you have arrows up/down to change current character (I know it's a bit boring to input any text on watch, so the main idea will be creating waypoints in future mobile app :)
To go prev/next character you should tap on the left/right side of the screen.

When you add current location, I predefined default name loc_yymmddhhmm, where yy is current year, mm - month and so on.
If you don't want to change the name, just tap 15 times on the right sight of screen (location name is limited up to 15 characters).
Maybe in future I'll develop more useful way of input.

    Thanks for using app!

Thank you!! It was the tapping X number of times to scroll all the way to the end that I was missing. I had no trouble entering a name, but in all cases they were much shorter than 15 characters, so I hadn't found the extent of the Picker boxes. Great app, I'll be using this one a lot. Thanks so much for doing this - really extends the functionality of the Vivoactive and being able to use it without depending on a phone is a huge bonus.

I'm sorry if I have become annoying already... Now that I know how to enter a location name, I've started trying to use the app.

    I entered a location by coordinates, entering N30.549783 W097.618417
My own, starting location is N30.54826 W097.62609
These two locations are less than a mile apart, but FindMe shows the distance as being 5582.57 miles...

Have I introduced an error, or is something else wrong?

    Thank you!
  • Can you try again? Maybe you input wrong coordinates (like other hemisphere)...
After input location coordinates there is info string with parsed coordinates, please check if it's what you need.
If error still exist, I'll investigate.
    Thanks

My first thought was that I'd made a hemisphere error, but I'd checked that. Just to be sure, I entered it again.

I've taken a couple of photos which follow that show the coordination entry confirmation and then a navigation screen from my location to those entered coordinates and showing the distance of over 5,000 miles.
