*** FOR VIVOACTIVE HR ***

The watch face for the modern age in the Garmin Connect IQ store.

Remember .. if you like HRLite or HRLite_White .. write me a review. That is how I know what you think about what I have done. It is what drives us.

If you have a question about the watch face .. leave me a note below or use the Contact Developer link on the download page.
HRLite and HRLite-White has been tested with Vivoactive HR firmware versions 2.60, 2.65 beta, 2.71 beta, 2.74 beta, 2.80 and 2.90.

Note .. I am not doing too many user settings on these watch faces. Things like background / foreground colors etc.

Note .. screen shots are subject to change, see full change log below for updated details. Screen shots may be simulated to show application operation.

HRLite / HRLite-White - FULL CHANGE LOG

[Version 1.40] December 9 / 2016

- Font improvements- Changed wording for 'Error Handler' setting in Garmin Connect Mobile .. to avoid confusion. Please read top paragraph on the download page for details.
- Removed Error Handler Number (formerly in bottom right corner) from the screen .. as it was confusing people as to its use. It can still be used if you are having problems with really low HR values. See the paragraph below for details.

Note ..Re the built in 'Error Handler' user setting in Garmin Connect Mobile. If set, HR Lite will disregard any (really) low HR readings that are below the set 'Error Handler' value. It is not related to your RHR at all. Default is 0 and all HR values are accepted. If it is set .. any HR readings LOWER than that number will be disregarded by HR Lite. [Version 1.36] December 6 / 2016

- changed fonts to increase readability[Version 1.30] November 27 / 2016

- increased Date and Time font for easier readability[Version 1.29] November 9 / 2016

- removed battery color to RED on battery status being low. This was due to the normal colors being easier to see.
[version 1.28] October 31 / 2016

- added launcher icon to take advantage of firmware 3.30[version 1.27] October 18 / 2016

- show Steps to Goal number on odd minutes. This is shown with the word GOAL in screen middle as well as checkered flag. Normal steps display in even minutes.

This is an optional display item .. turned on / off via user setting in Garmin Connect Mobile / Garmin Express.

[version 1.26] September 18 / 2016

- added intensity minutes on the bottom of the display. See your moderate / vigorous and total minutes for the day. Setting in Garmin Connect Mobile and Garmin Express. Default is normal view. The intensity minute display alternates with the normal battery status display depending on the minute. I thought this would be the best of all worlds. See screen shot above.

Due to updated software in this version .. you may need to update your firmware on your VivoactiveHR. You should probably do that anyways. :)

If you have issues downloading from the Garmin Connect IQ store try the steps listed here and try downloading again. This is a Garmin issue and they are working on it.
Apparently you may get a false message that you need to update your firmware when you have the latest firmware already. I personally have not experienced this.

  • Reboot your watch by switching it off completely, and then back on.
  • Plug into your computer with Garmin Express, let it sync, and unplug it.
  • Unpair your watch from your phone and pair it again

[version 1.25] August 7/2016

- added Resting Heart Rate (RHR) check. The watch face will now disregard HR values under your set RHR value (as set in Garmin Connect Mobile, valid range 30-99)

This will allow it to disregard really low HR values, which will influence your Minimum HR values. The default is 0 and will allow all readings if the RHR is not set.
[versions 1.21 - 1.24] Please use version 1.25

[version 1.20] - July 30/2016

- added 24 hour (military time)[version 1.19] - July 30/2016

- fixed Minimum HR issue[version 1.18] - July 29/2016

- removed font stripes for better readability[Version 1.16] - July 29/2016

- date and time (it is a watch after all)
- daily step count
- last valid heart rate reading on left
- minimum heart rate reading for the day on right (RHR), not just the last 4 hours.
- battery gauge with percentage. Turns red at 20%.

Configuration ..

Resting Heart Rate and Intensity Minute settings if desired. See versions 1.25 / 1.26 above for details.

If you have any questions, comments, or really anything, feel free to leave me a comment on this thread.

Thank you ..

Fantastic watchface, good to read and clear. Can you add 24 hour support, this will be great!

I added 24 hour (military) time today .. just do an update to the latest version.

Here is how to do it ..

    On your Vivoactive HR ..

    - Press and hold the right button down when the watch face is running. You will see the Watch Faces menu item at the top, select it.
    - Select Time from the next menu
    - Select Time Format from the menu
    - Select 24 Hour (or 12 hour as needed)
    - Press left (back) button 3 times to get back to the watch face.

Be sure to leave me a review .. that is what drives us to improve our applications. :)

A note for all HRLite users, be sure to update to the latest version .. as version 1.19 fixed a minimum HR resetting issue that was bad bad and just more bad. :o:o

Another tip .. if you need to reboot your Vivoactive HR, it is best that you exit out of the watch face before doing so (either by a swipe to a widget or a right button press). That will save your data from HRLite and HRLite-White. This is however only an issue with a reboot, your data is saved automatically when you exit your HRLite watch face otherwise.

If you have any feedback .. be sure to leave it for me so I can address it if needed.

For those that do not know .. and if you are like me that have both HRLite and HRLite-White installed, the watch face will only be able to determine the 'minimum heart rate' values while the watch face is running. They do not get any data from Garmin :p .. it is all done in real time doing a direct comparison of the last HR value to the current minimum HR value of the day.

So .. if you are using both applications (and switch between them as I do), you may see that the minimum could be different. The reason .. is that the minimum and last heart rate value are saved in 2 separate files, one for each application. Thus .. if you come back to the watch face, that data is still there, but the numbers will only reflect what happened while they were running.
The one tip I can give .. your lowest HR value of the day is pretty much always going to be during sleep and if your resting heart rate is important to you (it is to me as it is a good indicator of heart health), that is the time to make sure that you are running the watch face.

If you are interested in your Heart Rate Recovery (HRR) you can check out my other application .. DROP. Heart Rate Recovery is also an excellent indicator of heart health.

You can find it here: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/4d0ab435-0f2d-4c93-8eae-368fcda9c64e

As a reminder, in Garmin Connect Mobile under Health Stats / All Day Heart Rate you can see your heart rate range (minimum to maximum) anyways every day. I know I glance at it occasionally to see how things are working out.

When you are on the watch face display .. press and hold the right button and select Watch Faces. Then select Type .. and your desired watch face (in this case HRLite or HRLite-White) and then press the left button several times until you get to the watch face display.

    [Version 1.25] August 7/2016

Added a Resting Heart Rate (RHR) check today .... it was a long time coming. It was a tough one but I got there.
I made an oops and am embarrassed. But we are good and things should be good now. :)

If you set the RHR value in Garmin Connect Mobile .. it will allow the watch face to disregard any HR readings that are lower then the number set.

If you are like me that have received 25 bpm readings .. then this is something you need. Yes .. those would be invalid, and will alter your minimum HR values on the right side of the screen. So this update will resolve that issue.

As always .. let me know if you have any issues.

Tested with new firmware version 2.80 .. and HRLite passed with flying colors. :)

Edit .. works fine with firmware version 2.90 as well. I do not expect future issues as HRLite does not do anything that I expect Garmin to change in a big way any time soon.

Now available on the HRLite / HRLite_White watch face .. Intensity Minutes.

See your Moderate / Vigorous and Total minutes for the day. Intensity Minutes setting in Garmin Connect Mobile and Garmin Express. Default is normal view.

More details regarding the Intensity Minutes

If you do not want to see intensity minutes at all .. there are no changes, as it will only display as
below if you turn Intensity Minutes ON in Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express. By default it is OFF.

If Intensity Minutes display is ON you will see a combination of the normal view and intensity minutes display as below.

    - You will see the battery and battery percentage display etc (normal display) if the minute ends in 0, 4, 8 or 9

    - You will see moderate minutes if the minute ends in 1 or 5
    - You will see vigorous minutes if the minute ends in 2 or 6
    - You will see the total minutes if the minute ends in 3 or 7

That should allow you to see all the data you desire at regular intervals.

I have released the new version ... now with Intensity Minutes. Just set the user setting as desired in Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express.

However apparently some may have issues with the Garmin Connect IQ store and downloading.
The symptom .. it may tell you incorrectly that you need to update your firmware when you have the latest firmware version already.
This is a Garmin issue and they are looking at it. I personally have not had any issues.

I have tested this latest HRLite version with firmware version 2.90 and had no issues.

To resolve it .. (you likely could be fine with just a reboot)

    • Reboot your watch by switching it off completely, and then back on.
    • Plug into your computer with Garmin Express, let it sync, and unplug it.
    • Unpair your watch from your phone and pair it again

    Thanks
