Watchface: FontLess

https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/2dddc041-e851-4956-bda5-0e196f4de479

A different kind of digital watchface that uses no fonts or bitmaps. What this allows, is that the sizes of things change on what's happening. For example, the height of the time changes if sends are displayed, the hieght of the date changes if the move bar needs to be displayed, and the heights of both change if you don't want to see steps or goal!

There are a number of things that can be configures, like date (mm-dd-yy or dd-mm-yy), colors, what you want to see goal wise (a combo of step goal, difference to step goal, percentage of step goal, calories, and distance), where they rotate every minute.

Submit you questions and report problems here!

With this being a watchface for a new device, there could be a number of people that haven't used app-setting with Connect IQ before.

Here's a great thread that shows the process of getting to the configuration (How to:App Settings)

    HR

How do you get the HR to show? I have HR setting checked & the HR widget is working but nothing on watch face. Any suggestion, am I doing something wrong, where should it show on the watch face? Also, a description of all the icons would be helpful.

    Thanks

Make sure you have the latest version.

HR is one of the things shown as a "goal" There are Daily Step Goal, Different from step Goal, Percent of Step Goal,Calories, distance and HR as options, and with app-settings (GCM or GE) you can select any of them you want.

Also, there is a setting if you want to see what you selected all the time, or just when seconds show. If this isn't checked, they only show for 10 seconds when you turn your wrist (when seconds are also displayed.)

The icons starting from the right are Bluettoth (phone connected), Alarm Bell (one or more alarms set), Notifications (one or more unread notifications) an "zz" for sleep mode.

This is great! Love the numeric date. Would be nice to see the day of week (maybe instead of the year, like MO 08-15). I usually know what year it is, but not always what day it is :D !

Other than that, it's got everything I need. Thank you!
  • "Fontless" doesn't use any fonts, so I don't have an easy way to displays A-Z, so adding the day of the week would be a bit of a pain. That's why pretty much everything is just numbers, except for the icons and a few special cases like -,%, and a simple way to ID each of the possible goal formats.

Got it. My workaround is a calendar widget.
  • Day-of-week

I second the request for DAY-OF-WEEK ! Most times, I know what YEAR it is, but need help with DAY-OF-WEEK. :)

Also, is there any hope that you might fill out the letters more? The skinny letters are nice, but still hard to read under low-light and off-angle.

It would be great if day of week can be displayed as numeric
    Sun - 0
    Mon - 1
    Tue - 2
    Wed - 3
    Thur - 4
    Fri - 5
    Sat- 6

I really like this watchface so thanks for making it available. I tried loads before I finally found this one.

Just one question - is the line that creeps across the screen a move alert? If so why is it displayed when move alert is turned off under Garmin settings?

Yes, that's the move bar. When you turn off move alerts, it turns off the special alerts (toast/vibration based on watch), but watch faces often still display the movebar, unless there is a setting specific to the watch face to hide it.
