IN CONCLUSION!

I am an independent software developer. I'm also a dedicated runner, passionate about my health/fitness and been an owner of many Garmin devices over the years (305, 310, 910, vivofit to name a few). If you like BigTime and want to find out more please visit www.boiledsweets.com/garnin.

Now go, go run...

Thanks! :)
  • Looks very good, especially Blocky font..

Your watchface is closely associated with an activity tracker as it shows steps, progress bar, inactivity bars etc. and I assume that 99,9% of your users have the activity tracker enabled so an icon of the blue runner is maybe little pointless because it'll be shown every time. Or does it mean something else?

    Good work!

Yes, I suppose it's a little redundant. If Garmin ever get round to exposing something a little more useful to show as an icon then I'll use that space for something else. At the moment there is no other status infomation available to show on the watchface, BigTime shows everything exposed to the watch faces in the development kit.

What else would you want it to show? I can ask Garmin to see if they can add it.

If "activityTrackingOn=false", that can be seen in another way, as you probably don't want to show steps or the move bar (steps never change if it's false on a real device, and same with the move bar level) It's probably the same with distance and calories, but I've never tested that myself.
  • Go on then one more - that's all folks...

  • Activities Icon always showing

I apologize if someone already wrote about this. I am running a 920xt with 6.11b on it. The watch always shows the activity recording button (looks like play - right most icon). Is this correct? It also does not show the runner like above.
  • In the next version I've changed the icon. But yeah it bascially shows you that the watch is in activity tracker mode. A bit pointless perhaps as the move bar and steps bar are also always shown

I'm mulling over the options. I suppose it makes more sense to not show the icon and both move bars if activity tracker mode is off. At the moment if activity tracker mode is off the icon wont be displayed but the bars will. The problem is without the bars there will be a big gap at the bottom of the screen.

    Decisions, decisions....
  • rupert - it's not just the bars. With "activityTracingOn=false", everything in ActivityMonitor.info is meaningless. So that means steps, goal, distance and calories too...

Maybe you could "spread out" the other stuff? With it off, the only thing meaningful under the time is the date.

    Problem after update

After an update a few days ago, this great watch face is no longer working for me. The behavior is strange...

The BigTime watch face is listed properly. When I select it, the default Garmin digital face is shown.

    Other watch faces work properly.

When I select the default Garmin digital face, it also works properly. With the garmin default, choices about the color are also shown.

When I select BigTime, the garmin watch face is shown. However, the the color choices are NOT shown.

    I have restarted the watch.

I have deleted, synced, reinstalled, re-synced, but the behavior is still the same.

Any ideas? Thank you for your time.

    Love the face! Question...

Is there any reason the "activity recording" triangle would remain on if my device isn't currently tracking an activity? The blue triangle next to the battery percentage is being displayed. I've been through the watch thoroughly and verified no activities are being recorded. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the face and rebooted the watch, but the triangle remains. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!
