New sync software "forgets" the rest of the day one have last synced if one does not sync every day

This is quite annoying if one is tracking long term performance. So for example after my Friday morning run I synced the data with my Garmin watch and then I only synced again Sunday evening and it syncs the data perfectly for Saturday and the part of Synday which has passed but somehow it forgets the data from the Friday that has been recorded by the watch!
