Race Countdown

App:Sailing Race Countdown timer with a display of Current Speed/Direction and TOD/Duration/Distance/Max Speed after countdown finishes.
*** Please use with latest version of the firmware for your watch ***
Supports:
Fenix3, Fenix3 HR, 920xt, Epix
Can only test on a Fenix 3, all other models are tested on the Simulator - if there is a problem with these please post in this thread.
Features:
- 0/1/2/3/4/5/10/20/30/40/50/60 minutes Countdown times can be selected
- Set default Display after countdown and Units
- Minute, Display and Units settings are saved for next time the app is started
- Sync Countdown to nearest minute or round down (except last min)
- Stop Countdown and Reset
- Distance and Time to Startline
- After the Countdown completes two displays can be toggled
- Display 1 - TOD/Race Duration/Total Distance (NM/System Default) and Max Speed (Knots/System Default)
- Display 2 - Current Speed (Knts/System Default) and Bearing (Degs)
- When Display 1/2 are shown - Min Jibe Speed & Max reach Speed can be set to display.
- Can Save or Discard activity data on exit
Usage:
- Press Menu (LONG PRESS +2sec) to change Countdown time/Default Display/Units/Enable-Disable Jibespeed & Startline etc
- If timer is counting down the Down button will sync to the nearest minute
- If timer is stopped the Down button will reset the timer
- If Distance to StartLine is enabled go to StartLine settings in Main Menu and set position of StartLine Marks. Mark positions are saved for next time the app is started. Mark positions can be cleared or reset.
- After the Countdown completes use the UP button to toggle between the two displays
- After the Countdown completes press Stop and then the Down button to reset Countdown
- If JibeSpeed is enabled a display of min jibe speed & max rerach speed (for last reach) will display for 10sec. If no jibe is detected or if stop moving the max reach speed will only display. NOTE: The Alert sound can be disabled.
- Long press the Down button to access main watchface/widgets
- Press Back to exit and save/discard

    Hi pashks79 - added Epix support. Let us know if there are any issues. Seemed to work well on the simulator.

    Support for waypoints?

    Nice application! More stable than than the native Garmin Sail app (admittedly, the quality bar of that app is not very high).

    I sail/race in the San Francisco Bay. Often, courses are set around known waypoints. Is there a chance that you could add waypoint support, such as Bearing To Waypoint (BTW), Distance to Waypoint (DTW), or even angle to waypoint. I can already upload waypoints to my Quatix 3 (rebranded Fenix 3 -- exact same watch), but there is little I can do with them on the water.

    Love this app on Epix
    can you add one more screen with average speed to 10s that compared with actual screen if actual less than red if more green
    it will help in race sail trimming

    Will have a look at adding 10s avg speed and waypoints. Please note there is a max size the app can run at and if it goes over this it can cause the app to crash - so it will depend on if I can get these options to work with the current limit.

    Countdown Repeat

    First off, love this app.

    Would it be possible to add a Countdown repeat count. I race where there are about 8 division starts each starting 5 minutes after each other. We start 5th, which gives us the opportunity to set our countdown on any of the previous divisions, eg 5, 10 , 15, 20 or 25 minutes before our start. It would be good if we could set the countdown to 5 minutes (in our case) and the number of times to repeat the countdown before starting.

    Yes, we need this (for us would be ok even without setting number of times to repeat the countdown - could be infinity). This is needed for race comity.

    Anyway perfect app. This small improvement would very nice to see in the future.

    Thrown out my sailing specific timer

    Love this, awesome job! Anyway of getting the minute round down to happen straight on button press rather than nearest minute? Only tend to miss a gun and need to round down rather than up.

    Top job with the app.
