To create your own design or modify one, install & use the M2 Designer app on your watch. These are the steps you would go through:

  • Optionally paste a text code into the "Profile Text" setting of M2 Designer & save the settings, or load one of your previously saved designs (either via the settings or the in-app menu).
  • Run the M2 Designer app (found underneath your activities list) and create your design.
  • Once you've finished, open the Garmin settings for M2 Designer.
  • The text code in "Profile Text" will now represent whatever your design looks like, so copy the text code from "Profile Text" - and be careful to select the whole text.
  • Close the settings for M2 Designer.
  • Open the Garmin settings for M2 (watchface) instead.
  • Delete any text that was already in "Profile Text" - this step helps to avoid potential problems
  • Paste the text code into "Profile Text".
  • Save the settings.
  • Now when you view the M2 watchface it will show your changes.

    Yep Slight smile So far as I know it should already work on the Tactix Delta as it was automatically added by the app compiler (since it is the same) - in the device compatibility section it is listed on the same line as the fēnix® 6X Pro - so I'm hoping it is working anyway!

    Since last week I am using my new vivoactive4, and today found about the m2 watchface, I love it - Great Job!

    One thing I just can't get to work is to have the second indicator to show up with gesture. It is activated with visibility option "gesture active", but whenever I turn my wrist and backlight goes up, the second indicator just won't show up. Thinking about to constantly display it, but am afraid, that this would lead to faster battery drain. Am I doing something wrong? The gesture profile is set to 0, do I need to change this?

    Hi Slight smile Having the gesture profile set to 0 is fine - you only need to set that to a number greater than 0 if you want a completely different profile to display during the 10 seconds of gesture active time.

    I just tested your profile text on a couple of things and the seconds (red triangle) worked for me (and display looks good too!) - I tested on:

    • Simulator for VA4 (+ F6X Pro)
    • My own real watch (Fenix 5X+) - I tried this with backlight not turning on & also turning on for gesture, and it worked for both

    So I'm not sure why it isn't working for you!

    2 things I can suggest you try:

    1. Make sure your watch is updated to the latest firmware (just do a sync using Garmin Express on PC) - it's possible there is a bug in the firmware, although I haven't seen any reports of problems
    2. Test another M2 profile with gesture just to check, e.g. this one (only hours displayed + minutes on gesture):

    Let us know what happens, and I'll try to think of anything else it could be.

    thank you so much for your fast check and reply. I tested the other code and it didn't work as well. :( so I guess some other setting must be wrong. I also tried out some other gestures settings as intensity high instead of low but this doesn't help. Anyway, I really like the watchface as it looks like and can live without seconds as well, so maybe I find some time over the next days to play around with all sorts of settings :)

    BTW: SW is all updated to latest versions via g armin express

    I've filed a bug report with Garmin as I think it must be a bug in the firmware - feel free to vote the bug up here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/i/bug-reports/onexitsleep-not-being-called-on-va4

    I've also remembered there were similar problems in the past with other watches (links in the bug report)  - it sometimes helped switching to a widget and then back again. But I suspect it won't help in your case, as connecting to Garmin Express would also have the same effect (of restarting the watchface).

    For now maybe try having the seconds on all the time, and see if the battery is a problem Slight smile (I just have it on myself!)
