Data Field: Run Graphs

Run Graphs v0.6

Features
Instead of trying to squeeze in as much information as possible on a small screen, I have attempted to focus on the most important data shown as clear graphs.

This data field shows the Heart Rate, Pace and Running Cadence as moving graphs. Heart Rate is the main graph, and change color depending on the current Heart Rate Zone. Pace and Cadence are shown as line graphs on top of the HR graph.

The data field is only usable with a 1-field screen layout. Used in other layouts it simply displays an error message.

User Settings
This version supports user configuration on watches supporting Connect IQ 1.2.1.
The following settings are available (Defaults are provided for watches not supporting user settings):
  • Display HR as % of max HR (Default: On)
  • Duration of graph in minutes (Default: 15 min)
  • HR Zone 1 (Default: 111 BPM)
  • HR Zone 2 (Default: 142 BPM)
  • HR Zone 3 (Default: 143 BPM)
  • HR Zone 4 (Default: 160 BPM)
  • HR Zone 5 (Default: 166 BPM)
  • HR Max (Default: 194 BPM)

Version 0.5 - December 3, 2015
  • Initial version
  • I wanted to test it because its look very promising but i have Epix. I understand that Epix has to small screen for it? :)

Both Epix and 920XT versions are coming, probably in a few days :)
I just want to do a bit more testing on my fenix first to make sure things are stable.

  • Marvelous :D

Is it possible to add altitude graph? i think it would be to clustered, but maybe it can be done in such cool way as others?

I think three graphs at once is probably max, both readability wise and performance wise. But the altitude data is available, so technically there is no problem replacing for instance cadence with altitude. It is maybe more relevant for the majority of runners as well?
  • It depends. Generally after some time in running i doesnt care about cadence because i found what is best for me. But few years ago it was important ( i even ran with metronom app in first android phone ;) )
Now i like to see on hilly trails heart rate - pace - altitude dependence :)

Maybe give alternative between alti and cadence graph in settings?

Pity I do not have fenix to test this field :/ more I look at it the more interesting it looks :)
  • Wow - this looks fantastic, can't wait for a 920xt or 235 version!!

Redesigned the data field a bit, and added support for a bunch of other watches :)

    New in this version:
    • Added support for the Forerunner 920XT
    • Added support for the Epix
    • Added support for the Forerunner 230/235/630
    • Added support for the D2 Bravo

There is still work do to on layout optimizations, so suggestions and corrections are welcome!

  • thanks I will try on my 920XT in the next few days.

My suggestions: I would prefer you remove the "CAD" and "PACE" labels so you can make the number font larger. This would work ok as there are so few numeric fields, and their values / format let you know what they are.

On the non Fenix layouts, I would also prefer the HR zone name instead of timer. My preference is instead of Zx to have "Easy", "Aero", "Tempo", "Vo2max" and "Anaero".

But that's just my wish list!
  • THANKS! instaling right now! :)
Hope they will fix epix bug with amount of fields installed. I am running low ;P

I thing it will be as essential (for speedwork) as battery widget for me :)

Thanks for the feedback, I'll see about increasing the font on the square watches. On the round ones I don't feel there is space enough to do it.

As for showing HR Zone instead of timer, it is difficult to see in the screenshot, but there is a colored line on top of the screen showing the current HR Zone.
