Power4Bike calculates power! Its uses speed, cadence, incline, bike weight, bike type, riderposition, body weight, and body height. Headwind direction is also considered. Tyre and pressure is also a factor added in the algorithm. For road bike it is used a Continental GP4000S II Comparison 23mm and for mtb it is used a Continental Race King Performance 2.2.
It just works, and no extra need for cadence sensor. Just the clock, yourself and the road:)

Has anybody used this for indoor trainers? Is it applicable for both indoors and outdoors?

    Hi my friend.

Did you prepare the field to be written in the .FIT file? Will be really interesting can check the data in GC.

Thanks a lot for your work!
    Santi.
  • Hello,

The App worked fin. Until the last update for the EDGE 1000 (9.10)

Now i see only the "IQ" Symol in the datafeld.

And is it posible to make 2 Datafelds ? One for MTB and one for Roadbike ? With 2 configs ?

Another Idee: Is it posible to save the Power in the fit-File on Garmin ?

    Sincerely

PS.: The App works now fin on my Edge 1000 with the new version 1.1.4-e82 !! THX !!

    Error

I doesnt work, i configurate it and give me problems, it helps if you give the steps for the installation and how configurate
  • I'm getting "IQ!" in the data field on my 920XT (firmware 9.20) on version 1.1.4-e83. Would really like to use this data field. I'm not currently using any other ConnectIQ data field or apps with my Bike profile. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    [Edit #1]
I just checked the app logs and saw this:
    ERROR: Unhandled Exception
    DETAILS:
    STORE_ID: 022087E759304C71964F0BC0598D6BC5
    CALLSTACK:

Not sure if this is useful or not in debugging the problem.

    [Edit #2]
I was playing around with the settings, and this Unhandled Exception seems to only occur when I change the text fields using Garmin Connect Mobile app on my phone. If I change the settings using Garmin Express on my Mac, it works as expected. Hope someone will find this tid bit of info useful.

i think that the problem that most users have with the IQ symbol has to do with the configured language in the smartphone. in those languages where the decimal point is a comma, it will crash, because the garmin app waits a decimal point. this should be handled in the watch.
