Power Zone Distribution
Power Zone Interval

Power Zone Distribution
This data field shows the power zone distribution. The bar colors change dynamically during the activity depending on how much time is spent in each power zone.

Power Zone Interval
This data field shows the power zone in a moving bar graph. The bar colors change dynamically during the activity depending on power zone. The field is meant to visualize the power during intervals, too make it easier see if the effort is appropriate.

Common for both fields
  • Power zones are user configurable on watches supporting Connect IQ 1.2 and above.
  • Power can be shown as Watts or as a percentage of FTP (user selectable)
  • In some layouts the label background is colored to show the current zone (user selectable)

The following settings are available (Defaults are provided for watches not supporting user settings):
  • Display power as % of FTP (Default: On)
  • Background color of label shows current zone (Default: On)
  • Duration of graph in minutes (Power Interval data field only. Default: 15 min)
  • Power Zone 1 (Default: 73 W)
  • Power Zone 2 (Default: 160 W)
  • Power Zone 3 (Default: 219 W)
  • Power Zone 4 (Default: 262 W)
  • Power Zone 5 (Default: 306 W)
  • Power Max (Default: 292 W)
  • How to change settings

I plan to support EDGE devices some time in the future, but I currently don't know exactly when.

    Awesome

Power Zone Distribution is one of the most useful apps here!!! just love it. Especially if you targeting zones and have no prescribed training. Going for random ride but with some purpose to clock particular zone.

Is there any way you can expand this to 7 zones, 7 zones is kinda golden standard: http://home.trainingpeaks.com/blog/article/power-training-levels

Right now it only measures up to Vo2max.

Also I think there is a bug, when device is paused, and my zone 1 is set to 20W, counter still adds time to Zone 1 despite the fact I'm not producing any power. Zone 1 is always off.

    Great app!!

    Thanks for the feedback!

I know seven zones is the norm, but I had to settle for five due to memory constraints. But quite a few things has happened to The Connect IQ API since I forst wrote the app, so I'll look into adding two additional zones.

And thanks for the bug report, I'll fix that as well!

    Vivoactive compatibility

    Hello,

I have a Vivoactive watch and I tried your application but it didn't display anything during my cycling activity. I have version 1.3.1 of Connect IQ. I had this Data Field on its own screen with no other fields displayed. Any idea why is wasn't working? Does this require a power/speed sensor?
    Thanks,
    Eric

Yes, it requires a power meter.
