watch app - Time and Tempe

for the vivoactive, fr230, 235 and 630 (requires the Tempe Sensor)

This is NOT a watchface - it's a watch app. It has the the basic stuff for a watchface and looks like one, but includes the temperature from a Tempe Sensor. Times can be 12/24hr, Temp in F or C.
12/24hr and F/C are controlled by the system settings on your watch (12/24 is in "clock", and F/C in "units, temperature units")

PLEASE NOTE: When you start the app, it can take a minute or two before the temperature is displayed, as the Tempe only transmits that often.

Also displayed are the high and low temperatures for the day, but ONLY from the times this app is running. (but are saved for the day - they reset when the day has changed)

The screen is updated every minute (like low power mode of a watchface), but on a device with a touch screen, if you tap the screen, it updates every second (and shows seconds) for 15-20 seconds.

  • Many of the things like "goal" are for the watchface part of this, step goal, etc. For HR, I do that like in a watchface too (last reading in history, not real time.) The things like steps and HR, rotate every minute (if you have more than one).

The tempe only reads a temp every minute and then transmits that, so yes, there could be a extra minute involved, but with the Tempe, the temperature of the device itself doesn't really change suddenly, and is more gradual.

I really don't plan to change the layout. This app as been like this for about 2 years now, and it runs on a number of devices.

BTW, I'm not sure I'd take a tempe in a sauna... Both due to the heat and humidity. I doubt it's really air tight. (Yes, we have saunas in the US too! :) )
  • Would it be possible to add the ability to record to a fit file?? this would mean we can look for trending temp changes at a later date  and the same for an accessible graph in the app its self..

I use my tempe in a few different situations to normal use such as inside our duck house over winter to monitor temp drops that could effect egg laying so having access to long term(ish) graphs etc on both the watch and fit file would be useful same for when one of our children is ill we place it near them at night as temp drops can in some cases be the cause of why they feel iil or are just having poor sleep. In all cases the tempe is in range of the watch most of the time when we do these monitoring situations... But then when I am out in the mountains it can be useful to be able to review overnight tempes so we know how good the freeze thaw situations over night was which can indicate avalanche hazards that day.

    hope you can do this,

    regards

  • With the Tempe paired to your device, when you record any type of activity the tempe data will be included, so it's easy to see a graph of that when you view the activity

  • Hmmmmmm but this app is a basic watchface with tempe features which is idea when you don't need ANYTHING else so why not include the suggestions???? Your suggestion is adding a tempe datafield to an activity etc which is not always idea....  as that requires you to add and then scroll etc... where as yours APP/WF is almost perfect as all info  there and nice and easy to read with out having to change screens etc.. The addition of recorded data I would have thought would have been a nice feature for those of us that find it useful, same with a graph  we can view on the watch if and when required.. And as far as I can tell there is no DF that even allows you to view historical data directly on the watches..

So if possible please could you add the suggest features..

  • You can set up an activity of the type you want, and just have the tempe data and the clock time on a single data screen, if you want to see a graph of the data.

  • You really are missing the point.. Your app watchface is brilliant , it displays enough info and if is great looking and I would like to have a few extra features to make it even better... you solution is an activity with addition DFs to do what you app could do. This means loosing a great looking app/wf and having to install additional DFs and taking up even more space to do what yours could!!! I am really struggling to understand why you are so adverse to my suggestions. Just having the ability to record the tempe data to a fit file and a graph on the watch to view it would be quite frankly FECKING AMAZING and all part of a great looking APP/WF as well....

  • It was not designed to do what you suggest (recording a fit), has been around for many years, and so far only one person has asked for this,  It's not going to change.

    Sorry.

  • Ok what ever..... seem par for the course.... and for you thats normal

  • You can do exactly what you want by adding a data field to an activity, And nothing to install, as it's a native data field.  This is a device-app and not a watch face, which means it will already consumes more battery than a watch face, and adding fit recording (Which sport?) would make it consume more.

  • again you miss the point, Your APP/WF is greatlooking and functional and with addition of two features it would be so damn useful .... Also YOU CAN'T ADD a DATAFIELD to CUSTOM APPS of add apps to activities...  As to consuming more battery yep already knew that but still I though why not as the dev if he could add two additional features... May be I am the only one who has ever asked you but them may be others have thought hmmm if only and then moved on...    But anyway I guess it was too much to ask or suggest....
