I was not able to find a watch face with the look and functions that I wanted so i made an attempt of making one instead.
The watch face is inspired by the look of the TRIWA Midnight Nevil model (http://triwa.com/en/watches/nevil/midnight-nevil)
I have tried to make the watch face, hands and icons to be kind of 3d with some shading.

Functions
  • movement indicators
  • phone connection icon
  • battery icon
  • 24 hour and APM/PM indicators (system settings)
  • UTC clock
  • daily steps percentage fullfillment indicator
  • alarm icon
  • notification icon (sms, mail, reminders etc)
  • sleep mode icon
  • second hand, current number of steps, battery percentage visible in high power mode (on gesture)
  • turning off activity tracking disables step counter clock and movement indicator dots

Requirement
The watch face requires QIC of minimum level 1.2 (Fenix3 running Firmware 5.0 or higher)

I have decided to not use a standard bluetooth icon as the device needs to have and active connection with the Garmin Connect Application and not only be paired as a standard bluetooth device.

The limitation of having second hands visible for some seconds only is a limitation in the QIC framework. (A long thread describing this can be found here: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread...conds&p=455494

I am mostly grateful to Arjo for sharing his code and making this possible.

  • would it be hard for you make this compatible with the Forerunner watches?

i too agree with the reviews that instead of UTC, i would prefer something like battery % or something. but i know you created it with your own needs in mind, so beggars can't be choosers! :)

I can try to make a version :)
There is already a battery percentage in high energy mode (ie when wrist movement is detected), as well as a total sum of today's steps and second hand becoming visible.

    Cheers!
  • thanks for being willing to try and accommodate the forerunner watches (i'm assuming the challenge is the upper and lower lips of the screen shape around the 12 and 6 o'clock hours.

i didn't know about the battery meter during high energy times, but it seems that for the people who reviewed and said they didn't use the UTC dial, you could potentially include the battery percentage 100% of the time. (but again, that's on the "wish list" from the users :) )

i can't wait to try it out. your image shows it to be a very attractive face, and there are so few out there currently for the new Forerunners.

I'll try to look into it :)

Regarding battery meter. The battery icon is actually quite dynamically as well as it draws one pixel per 5% of remaining battery capacity. This is the one beeing displayed at all time and battery percentage shown as numbers is shown at high energy mode using the onExitSleep() function.
  • version for square screen

hey, it really looks great, but could you make a version for a square screen like the vivoactive?

    UTC useful?

If you can add configuration to the UTC dial as such that it can be used as home time while traveling, that would be amazing.

  • Garmin Fenix 5x

    Hi

Any chance of updating this for the Fenix 5x? This is my go to watch face and disappointed it is. It compatible.

    Thanks
