The "Simple" Watchfaces

I have a few Simple Wathcfaces in the app store:

"Simple Digital" - time/date steps/goal using a 7-segment display like font:

Initially, they are for the vivoactive (expect Simple Round and Simple Round 2) and the fr23x and fr 630.

These watchfaces support "user settings" to change color schemes and options.

I'm using the Simple Big on the forerunner 235, and I have all of the latest updates. When looking in Garmin Connect, my step goal is set at 10,000 steps, but the app is set for auto goal, and is changing…

Simple Big resets

Hi, I installed the Simple Big update to 0.11i and the watch face keeps resetting itself to White on Black and the steps to the first option (I prefer Steps+% but it doesn't stick).
Hope you can fix that.

What version of FW is on your watch? Are you trying to set it with GC Mobile or Garmin Express?

If you're using GCM, when you hit "done" does it change and then later change back?

Did you have an earlier version installed? What color scheme are you trying to change to?

like the idea behind the simple round, but some wish lists suggestions :)

- customize background color (at least option to go with black background)
- customize hand colors
- refine date box (numbers seem hard right justified and should be shifted left a bit)

There is actually a "method to my madness" here. The "Connect IQ" you see is actually a bitmap, using the Garmin approved layout and colors, including a white background (there is actually a document by Garmin that says what you can and can't do!). So making the background of the watchface something other than white really wouldn't work. And the hands are the alternate "Connect IQ colors (or as close as I could get :) )!

The date is hard right justified, and is in a spot that allows 1 to 31 to fit (this isn't a fixed-space font so the width varies). It was simply something I settled on when writing it, and might change it.

Maybe I'll do an alternate version, but that would be sometime in the future.

ah. thanks for the follow-up. i actually turned off the connect IQ logo immediately and am on the lookout for the ideal analog face. i am a little surprised that Garmin didn't provide one of their own with the watch itself, but perhaps they didn't want to have to grapple with that flat forehead and chin on the non round screen on the watch face :p

Actually, more "method in the madness" here. The default watchface on devices is not CIQ, and actually runs on it's own chip! (that's why it's the only watchface that shows seconds all the time). This is done to use as little power as possible.

I'm not sure if any of the devices have a "default analog" watchface, actually. The only ones I've seen are digital.

The "semi-round" of the new forerunners makes it a bit harder to do a few things, but it's not bad. I did "Simple Round" as more of a test to see how using round on a semi-round would look.

wow: that's good information. i didnt' know that the default watch had its own chip.

while the second sweep is nice, i really prefer analog faces. i'm guess the non-round face of the FR series must have to do with antenna placement. would love to see what you come up with as time allows. i've never developed anything like this before, but i may have to give it a try at some point just for fun.

Steps Goal not matching

Is there a way to correct this so my step goal will be 10,000 steps daily instead of the auto goal?

If you are using auto goal, your step goal changes every day. It's not 10,000. That's probably what you are seeing is your auto goal

On Garmin connect, you can change your auto goal to a manual goal of 10,000, and the 235 will use that as your goal every day. After you set a manual goal in GC or GCM, you need to sync your watch. You can verify this by looking at the activity monitor widget on the 235 (push up or down buttons while on the watchface to see that widget.

How do I get the simply big background to white? It's the same with simply watch. It shows up black on my 235?
