In order to use the external Tempe Temperature Sensor you first need to pair it with your Garmin device. This step has nothing to do with TruFlite. Once your Tempe sensor has been paired, then you can go turn on the TruFlite Settings/Options/Tempe Sensor setting and turn it On. The Tempe device transmits approximately once per minute, therefore it might take up to a minute before TruFlite will see a new Tempe temperature value. If TruFlite is getting a value from the Tempe sensor it will be displayed in the color green, otherwise, if it is using the provided value it will be in white. Here are some pictures of pairing a Tempe sensor with a Garmin Fenix 5x. Personally, I zip-tie the Tempe to my bipod, so i get a good ambient temperature reading and a little more likely to be protected from direct sunlight.
