For when you have a crash and your Edge gets launched into the weeds and then you pedal off without it.
I monitor the bluetooth connection to your phone and start beeping when you get out of range. Beeps continue and then get more frequent when you come back and bluetooth reconnects. That's so you can find it hiding in the bushes or - as in my case this past weekend - the cattle guard.
Silence the beeping by tapping the field. It's a data field, so always runs in the background and since it is just background processing, you can bury on it page 3 and forget it until it saves your day.
I'm using onTap as the silence mechanism so only works on touchscreen Edges for now. I'll probably add in the start/stop button to support other ones in the future.
Named for the actual tether/lanyard you get in the box with a new Garmin Edge, but nobody ever actually uses. :)
