    Rebooting

    Hi,

I took the Sailing on a test run today om my sailing boat, and it really looks great - does everything I could wish for!

But, it keeps rebooting my watch. Even without touching anything, when recording it suddenly reboots.

I am using Fenix 3, v4.00, Swedish and metric (not sure whether these settings might affect). I had to install three times after first two installs I just got an IQ! symbol, but after third install I all looked swell for a few seconds.

As said, looks like a wonderful app and I really would like to get it working

    Thanks
    Mattias

Hi Matthias, sorry for the inconvenience. Could youcreate a logfile like it is described in this post and send it to me via private message?

Another nice feature that we've made added is CIQ logging, which can help you with debugging on the device. Here's how you use it:

    Create /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS on the device
Inside the LOGS directory make a CIQ_LOG.txt file

This will log out console messages to the CIQ_LOG.txt file. You can also create a separate log file for each app, where any Sys.println statements called within the app will be written. For example, if your app is called MYAPP.PRG, just create a MYAPP.TXT in /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS

The app is currently on a point, where memory (RAM) gets short. I think, this might be a reason. But let me take a look at the logs.

Yes. This screen is most important ( for my opinion )

maybe this is a general question - is there a way to not have this activity add to your steps/activity count? I had a killer fitness day when I ran the family 40 miles each way on the bay on Tuesday - burned thousands of calories !!!!!

oh yeah - one more thing - time of day somewhere would be a useful addition. Or can I exit it to check the time on my watch without stopping the recording of the track?

    thanks again.

Hi Duncan, as far as I know this is not possible. Your watch should still count only steps, that you really make. But I get what you mean. The calories are counted like it would be a running activity or something similar. I will take a look into this. The time of the day is allready displayed on the first view after you start the application. It is at the bottom of the view. That the recording is stopping after switching to the watch (pressing down long on the fenix for example) is another thing I'm investigating.

Your daily steps and calories will reflect those you do doing a recorded activity. There is no way to prevent this.

And based on your device, there is a way to get to the default watchface while in an activity. On the vivoactive for example, you press the screen for a few seconds. Once you are at the watchface, you can move to the ativity tracking widget and see your daily steps/calories, or get to the "music control" widget, without stopping your activity. On the va, it will time out and go back to your activity screens, or the back button will take you there right away.

At the current state this crashes my app. I'm not sure what to do about this behavior

What you really need for the calories is just he hrm.
the problem is with the data fields.

By now with all the requests pouring in, I think different versions of the sailing app could be made.
