Application: Sailing

This thread is for any comments or questions regarding my Sailing application. Feel free to post suggestions for new features or bugs. Thanks for using.

- added a startline screen that displays a countdown, distance and course to startline, ETA (see description)
- added support for D2 Bravo
- Layout updates for Velocity view
- 4 minutes countdown

- Bearing calculation is adjusted (will be calculated every 0.01 NM)

- added an activity menu, from which activities can be saved, resumed and discarded

--- press start second time -> activity menu is shown

As far as I know the epix is not supported by connect iq. Sorry

Hi pashka,

You are right about the Epix, I had the Quatix in mind (but that would make no sense at all). I've updated the application to also run on the Epix. I had to adjust the layout accordingly and currently left out the feature that displays a little marker that shows the direction you are moving (but the heading field is still available). I hope this works well for you (I don't own an Epix and can't properly test). Thank you a lot for the donation!

Great start if you will add track saving like regular activity it will be great .
If i pressed on strart button i see iq sign and nothing and app do not counting distance
I use Garmin Epix

Thank you RMZ84 for creating a sailing app. Great start!

I would like to give some personal feedback to help improve or increase functionality of this app. It would be nice to have;

GPS tracking (like regular built in apps such as hiking, biking, etc) This is a great way to review your sailing trip. It would be beneficial for person to be able to track the line on the map and compare boat speed etc.
Start, stop, resume and save functionality. Would be nice to mimic built in feature.
Heart rate tracking data (even after saving activity)
Countdown timer - allow user to set a 10,5,1 minute countdown with alarms (great feature for starting races)

Hope app popularity and development will grow.

Thanks RMZ84 for creating a sailing app! It's a great start!

I downloaded the app last night after my Wednesday Night Series Race, wish I did it before for a perfect trial run. Played around with the app a little and will give it a full test over the weekend. Impressive at first sight. Please continue working on making it better....

For now I would like to see;

Countdown timer - great for race start; would allow user to create a customized countdown (or multiple point one) example alarm at 10, 5 and 1 min

Once I take it out on the water and give it a test drive, I will definitely let you know if anything is buggy or come up with any more ideas on how to improve it.
