DataField : UK Grid Reference

@HOTDOGPARTYSAUSAGE thanks again for the feedback. V1.2 of the data field and widget includes a fix to pad the numeric fields to the correct length with leading zeroes. Let me know if you have any problems

Looks like that's sorted it. Where I live has a grid ref with a leading double zero and that displayed no problem. Smashing

..what about making a possibility to use this data-field to show MGRS. User switchable...(for those of us walking in other countries as well)?

Hi, the ConnectIQ doesn't provide a way of configuring data fields so I'd need to either add MGRS as another value in the display cycle, or create a new data field which is dedicated to MGRS. I'm not keen on the first option because it would add complexity, so the second option sounds best to me.

Before I look into creating a new app though, have you considered the UTM100 data field here: https://apps.garmin.com/en-RO/apps/e58c2f16-6512-4783-8b9d-eb76236c6f7c ? It looks like this might do what you need.

One thing to note, is that GEO_MGRS on the vivoactive doesn't work as of the last time I tried it. (3.30 or 3.40 FW). It's all zeros there.

I've looked at that - but, alas, it's not compatible with my Forerunner 630! Your second option looks fine to me.

Configurable Data Field Now Available

I've had a couple of requests to implement a version of the data field which just displays a 6 figure grid ref (without cycling through any other screens). After a bit of research I realised that data fields can be configured like other apps using the Garmin Connect Mobile app, so I have uploaded a new configurable version of the data field.

Note: In testing I noticed a couple of teething problems with the new version which I'll iron out in the next few weeks, but it's certainly usable as-is.
The two things I noticed were:
- A bug which is preventing the new version from recognising the settings dynamically - at the moment you need to stop and restart the app.
- I had some trouble getting the watch to use the new version of the app, so had to uninstall and reinstall from Garmin Connect Mobile to get it to work first time.

New version uploaded (2.10) which fixes the "update settings" bug, so you'll see the changes to configuration updated immediately without restarting.

When you first update to a new version the watch / device doesn't seem to pick up the new version immediately, but a reboot of the watch fixes that.
