I have created an application for the Garmin Connect IQ Intern competition. It's name is Location Finder (Connect IQ Link).
The application uses the devices GPS and the phones internet connection to query the Google Places API. To get around Connect IQ's JSON limitations I had to create a custom web service to help facilitate custom responses.

So far it's been used in 4 continents and 17 countries in the first couple days so it looks promising.
If anyone has some feedback and criticism it would be greatly appreciated! I am hoping to add turn-by-turn directions within the next few weeks.
