• Did you manage to update? I am still stuck in 4.0.0.

Garmin Express appears to have a issue, I reported it. Try using Garmin Connect Mobile, if you have the new version in the settings you'll no longer see a version field and now have a option for average heart rate & cadence.
• I tried again from GCM with no result: once I access the data field I see the button for "update", after press it ( and sync) the button disappear but next time I go to the same screen the button is showed again.

Currently on 7.52b

Thanks.

This is a known issue with GCM. Once you do the update from GCM once you should be all set.

Fields not displaying on 230

Nice concept but in practice the top 3 fields are showing up shortened in height so you only see the titles, not the values below. This is on a Forerunner 230 with software version 5.4.

I think you might want to double check that you have it configured right. The layout you describe is directly related to not have a single field layout defined. From the watch face do the following (step 5 is most likely the issue):

1. Click the top right button once to enter activity selection
2. Use the up arrow to scroll through the activities till you get to the one you want to customize (probably run or bike), only scroll, don't enter the activity
3. Select Menu > Activity Settings > Data Screens.
4. Select a screen.
Some screens can only be turned on or off.
5. If necessary, edit the number of data fields. <== should be one data field
6. Select a data field to change it. <== should be the Single Field

Thank you for this data field which is nice and clear so easy to view on the run. In terms of enhancements the only things I can think of after using it today are...

1) To have a race completion time estimate which could be configured to different distances. Maybe the option to have this displayed in the top or bottom space instead of time of day or gps status. I don't know what algorithm is usually used for this sort of calculation (e.g. positive vs negative splits) but presumably at its simplest, time to reach preset distance based on continuing at the current pace (with some smoothing).

2) To be able to customise the current speed averaging period by seconds. Maybe it is my lack of experience but I feel somewhere between current pace and 5 second pace would help me react at a more appropriate rate to keep to pace.

Thanks again.

I will look into it and see if some of these can be added. The main concern for me is providing a stable and consistent experience for the users and myself. As more features are added less memory is available and things get more complex and potentially impact the other pieces. Once I get through figuring out if lap information can be put in without major memory issues I can look into this and some other items users have requested.
• I've managed to get my vivoactive into a weird state with this

When I first tried it last night and I was still learning how to setup the running screens, I did see it working properly for a minute

Then I continued trying to edit the screens but now I cannot get Single Run Field to show back up properly.

It will only come back displaying "connect iq" with the little gold symbol, not the multi-display as expected.

Tried changing to one field, etc. no change.

edit: AHA! Just got it to work on "screen 2" - but I cannot get it to work as only the primary screen 1 with screen 2 & 3 off

edit2: argh, now I've managed to make it impossible to work on screen 2 - please tell me I don't have to reset the watch

edit3: success! the "fix" that I discovered was to craddle the vivoactive, go into garmin express and manage apps, then fiddle with the single field settings, even though I changed nothing, hit save so it syncs the watch - then I was able to go back into the watch and turn off screen 2, and set screen 1 to single field

thanks for an amazing app! keep up the awesome work!
• The only thing that could make this awesome data field better would be the ability to turn off the wasted space so the two lines of data could be as big as possible

1. no top line with the date, gps status or battery life, don't need it during activity

2. no labels on the fields at all

so just two lines with numbers as large as possible for people moving fast with hard to see small watch faces

HR | Pace | Cadence
Timer | Distance

153 | 7:44 | 166
2:26 | 1.32

no labels, no header or footer, just numbers because we run every day and know what each are by heart
• This data field is great, thanks! I have a couple of questions & request/suggestion:

1. Is it possible to add the current temperature data field (e.g. from a Tempe sensor)? Ideally this would be small text, with the clock or where the battery and GPS lock text is.

2. Is the current pace shown the same as that in the Garmin current pace data field on a normal data page? (Except for the not rounding to 5 s, obviously) What smoothing, if any, is done? Is it possible to tell if the pace is coming from GPS or a foot pod? Finally, is it possible to add a configuration option to show the pace rounded to 5 s, just like the Garmin pace?

Thanks again!
