• Probably a silly question... but what's the difference on 'timer' vs. 'elapsed'? They both seem to just count up when I start the activity...

Timer is the time you are active during a workout and doesn't include the time the activity is spent in a paused state. The elapsed time is the complete time of the workout including paused time. From the start of a workout you wouldn't tell the difference but if during a workout you pause the activity, when you start again the elasped time would include that time you were paused where timer would not.

From the watch face do the following:

1. Click the top right button once to enter activity selection
2. Use the up arrow to scroll through the activities till you get to the one you want to customize (probably run or bike), only scroll, don't enter the activity
3. Select Menu > Activity Settings > Data Screens.
4. Select a screen.
Some screens can only be turned on or off.
5. If necessary, edit the number of data fields. <== should be one data field
6. Select a data field to change it. <== should be the Single Field

Love this data Field. Thank you.

My small request. It would be nice to have an option for something else in the cadence field. Cadence is great for running and cycling, but not all of my bikes have a cadence sensor, so often that field is just blank. It would be nice to fill it with something.

My preferences would be Calories burned, Avg Speed, but really just about anything would be better than a blank field if possible.

Thanks again.

I will add it to the suggestion list. The data fields for older devices have limited memory and I am juggling getting lap information fields added, hopefully for pace/speed, distance, and timer. No promises on either but we'll see what can fit.
• It seems I can't update to the new 4.1.0 using a Fenix 3 with 7.50 firmware.
Every time I connect my watch with the Garmin Express it says that there is a new version and I press allow when it asks for the Garmin Connect fitness profile permission but I still have the 4.0.0 when I check later in the option. Sometimes it gets stuck in the middle of the processes and never ends the sync.
I tried to uninstall it and install it again but I still have the 4.0.0. version. I have also tried to power the watch off and to try again.

Garmin is experiencing some issues with the store in the last day or so. If you already did the restart (power off then on) and it is still presenting an issue, I would give it a little more time.

Did you manage to update? I am still stuck in 4.0.0.
