Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the forums and to Garmin watches, but I recently picked up a Fenix 3 and have been creating some watch faces for it. Here is a link to all of my watch faces:

Please feel free to send any questions, suggestions, etc. concerning any of my watch faces to me via this thread.

Thanks!
  • and very nice it is too, thanks again :)

Great watch faces but have a question

    Hi,

I love your designs and watch faces I just had a question more out of curiosity. Is there any way the hands on the analog clocks could be less pixilated? Certain hand orientations when pointing to different parts of the clocks show unclean lines. Is that just because the watches resolution is not as good as other smart watches? I love your work, you do an awesome job. Thanks!

    First of all, thank you!

As far as the rough edges on the hands... There are several things working against us when drawing on the Garmin watches. The resolution is fairly low (218 x 218 pixels on the fenix 3 for example), but the biggest problem is that you are working with 16 available colors, and there are no drawing routines that do any sort of anti-aliasing (at least not that I've found) which is commonly used to clean up rough edges on angled lines, etc.

Many of the newer smart watches out there have beautiful high resolution and high color screens which allows for some incredibly detailed faces, but at the expense of battery life and believe it or not, visibility in direct sunlight (take an Apple Watch out in direct sunlight and take a look).

Garmin has always been first and foremost about battery life and visibility outdoors which the displays on their watches do very well.
  • Very nice job! Congrats!

I am a happy user of the Marine Analog face. Nice job!
The ConnectIQ API is extremely limited and I admire all of you who embrace this development initiative.

  • Thanks for your awesome work... I'm getting my F3 today and will definitely be downloading a few of these :)
  • 02DropTopM3,

Great, clean faces! Any chance on adding the "day" on the "Pilot Power Reserve Analog?" Might fit at the 9 o'clock position.

Also, could you post or PM me what it would cost to commission you for some custom tweaks to one of your faces please?

    Thanks!

You're going to love the F3. With these custom faces it's like getting a new watch any time you download a new face! Very nice.
