Finally! I am so grateful for that someone put some effort to boost the 24 hr watch face. Thank you.
I was planning to design a watch face myself based on the Yeswatch Kundalini. Please check out http://www.yeswatch.com. Would it even be possible to emulate this?
It is primarily the single hand, the 24 hr face and the sunset/sunrise that should be of importance.

    Hi mrtin2,

yes, I think it's possible to make such a watch face. It is a nice addition to my 24h watch faces collection. May be, in the near future ;)
Thank you for your kind reply.
  • Hello Arjo,
I have a problem with your three "Uno"-Single Hand watchfaces.
All three watch faces look absolutely fantastic and I can not decide which one I want to use :)
The entire day at one glance - the simplicity of time - really great!
Thank you very much for your nice job and your effort!

One idea that came into my mind today:
Would it be possible to use the current date field also for showing minutes (as digital numbers)?
My thoughts are that by pressing the "back lap" button, you can choose between date or minutes.
Perhaps this might be possible for future updates?

So thanks again and looking forward to seeing other great ideas from you :)
    Christoph

    Update May,30:

Thanks a lot for implementing the date and minute field in your new version GF3 Nero v1.1 !
I sent you a small "test report" about the new version to your Garmin inbox.

    Best Regards
    Christoph
  • Thanks for this i have a originele uno button that isn't waterresistend (3atm)
    So i like this.
But can you make it cleaner? More like http://www.botta-design.de/en/uno-24-neo.html
    Or like http://www.meistersinger.net/
    Thanks you verre mutch

    Hello KLEIJN.W,

I'm not really sure what you mean by 'cleaner'? I tried to make it look like as much as possible to the original. But i'm limited by the specs of the Fenix3. The display is 218 x 218 pixels with 16 colors, so it will always be a digital replica of the original watch with all the pros & cons with that.
Well, on the bright site, you're still an owner of the original Botta Uno watch, which in my opinion is a great looking watch :)

    Thanx, Arjo
  • Hello Arjo,
I got another idea to show minutes on your “UNO” watchface-family while overcoming the shortcomings of the sub-optimal gesture recognition.
It would be possible to take advantage of the outer display of the Fenix3 which has already a 60min scale.
Just a very little colored dot or a small colored line at the very outer face of your watchface could indicate the position of the minutes on this scale.
In case you are thinking about implementing this idea I would be happy to be a “Beta”-tester :-)

    Best Regards
    Christoph
  • Hello,

I like the design very much. They have been advertizing on my Facebook pages, and I got very interested but I won't wear a watch with only time, so as watchface on the Fenix 3 is optimal :-)

But I tried the watchface since yesterday and I need time to 'convert'. I can't see what time it is with a fast glimpse at the watch, and it disturbs me that I can't determine the minutes. The low/high power switching between date and minutes is not reliable...

Would it be possible to create a version for us who would like to use the 24h format, but are not ready ?
I was thinking you could add the hours:minutes in the bottom, like the Fenix Watch Face G2, and the move the date to 3 o'clock, date only.
I am thinking that over time, when reading the digital and noticing the analogue hand simultaneously I will build a feeling of time of day, as I have with the 12 hour analogue watches...

An other feature I would like, is to see if 'move' is needed. Reason is I have got used to the step counter/move function of the F3, and I try to move when I am requested to, but now and then I am too busy. Then later I look at the watch to see if I need to move (if I forgot), and I like the watch faces which shows this without need to change page to the step counter. Perhaps you could implement it with a colour change, e.g. the light or dark half changing to light red when move needed, or some footsteps displayed at 9 o'clock or ....

    Hello MachtGeirich,

thanx for your comment on the GF3Uno watchfaces (Luce, Scuro & Nero)

But I have to clarify something about the design of these watchfaces. They are designed to show to time with an approximate accuracy of about 5 minutes. That's the whole idea of the Uno 24 hour watchface. The time is "almost 3 o' clock". Or "a few minutes before 6:30".
Adding a minute hand (or number) is actually a infringement of the original design. So, to be a little blunt, no i'm not going to change this design. I'm not to happy about the minute/date toggle myself, and thinking how i can change this without cluttering up the design. I've build a beta like berglauf1234 suggested, but still I think it is not THE solution.

To get back to your suggestions, maybe in the near future I might design the suggested watchface. Right now i'm working on 2 different designs, which i like to finish asap. So I'm a little busy at the moment.

So check in regularly. There are a lot of developers building great watchfaces...

    Best regards,
    Arjo

The one hand 24 hr watch face is more of a philosophy: slow time, slow down yourself and stop to be a slave to minutes. So I fully understand Arjo, when he do not want to change the design. Keep it as is. As I asked earlier, an emulation of the Yeswatch would also be nice to consider. Still very grateful for your work, Arjo!
