While reading this thread about manually calibrating the altimeter on the fenix 3, I looked up the elevation of my home address in the USGS National Elevation Dataset. It turns out they have a web service to query the data, so I whipped up a quick widget to enable me to get the NED elevation for my current location.
The data only covers the US, and you have to be paired to your phone in order to make the HTTP request out the USGS server.
