Cycling vs running - any way to detect

this is most likely a noob question but I can't find it on the forums (my search capability on the forum is poor)

is there a way to get what sport we are in the watch? I'm just looking towards differentiating between Running and Cycling.
Just want to change from showing Speed and showing Pace.

I know the watch has a preference where you show either speed or pace (i think for running)
is there a way to detect it just like how the time is detected or the distance via UNIT_METRIC or UNIT_STATUTE?

Thanks..
  • I'm assuming you're talking about data fields here because the question is not pertinent to the other app types...

Regardless, the answer is no. As far as I know, there is no way to detect that you are in cycling vs run mode. The only solution at this time is to have one for cycling and one for running.
  • Sigh.. this is my 3rd try replying. Keep on having issues.

Anyways - thanks Travis for the confirmation. Will upload a cycle specific version then.
    Thanks again
