I am looking for a watch with the following functions for kids ages 7-12 years old:
- Small profile
- Live GPS tracking
- SOS calling - emergency alert notification sent to 1-5 contacts
- Simple notification alert pager from 1-5 contacts (light or buzzing noise like an old-school pager)
- Not overly complicated with all the heart rate, calorie burning, no physical vital sign tracking
- No bluetooth functions since a cell phone will not be near by
- No Games
Basically looking at the Garmin Forerunner without all the physical vital sign tracking and adding a pager function to receive notification that someone needs them home.
I'm a mom, not a developer. I just want to have a simple device for my active kids to wear on their wrist, without it being a distraction in school or an activity play station. I have two active boys that ride bikes, fall down, swim, climb trees they are becoming more independent to play around the neighborhood. It would be nice to know where they are, by checking into an app using the live tracking system. Something they can notify us for help by using an emergency alert notification. A added bonus would be a simple notification system that alerts them when mom or dad want them home. It could be as simple as "Mom" flashing and buzzing onto the screen. Trying to avoid purchasing a smart watch through a phone carrier, to save on monthly bill and all options currently out there have a very large profile like a mini cell phone on a wrist band.
Reasonable price point, under $100 would be a plus. Since kids tend to break things or loose items.
