Possible update settings issue on Garmin Connect Mobile ios?

I've got 3 distinct reports yesterday that when editing settings from Garmin Connect Mobile the user is presented with a binary file when he tries to save the settings. (One of the reports is here: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/deve...08#post1457708 )

another report:
Peter
In the last two days if I attempt to change the Target Finish Time on the Race Pacer app, I am directed out of Connect on iOS to a web page. I make the setting change and then I am presented with a binary file to download. App is up to date - is it possible that this came in with the most recent update?
another report of another app (hi vis pacer)
Having real difficulty getting this app set up. All installed okay however if I try to adjust the settings (distance, pace etc) as soon as I hit save I get the message 'Open outside Garmin Connect Mobile' When I select no nothing happens, when I select yes the settings screen opens in a browser window. I then make the same changes, hit save and I get a binary file to download?

I'm assuming it's a possible bug on the Garmin Connect Mobile (iOs version) side of things, as I don't have issues doing the send settings from my Android phone and the user that reported the issue was also able to update the settings through Garmin Express on his pc.

I did recently recompile both apps with the latest sdk (3.0.8) but beside adding support for the vivoactive 3 music lte I did no major changes to the apps

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

German (Swiss) here. Changed to English, but issue was still there. Complete show stopper on my new Fenix 5 plus. Why can‘t you roll back to the previous version of the app for the time you need to solve this?

Btw: using Garmin Express on a Windows PC is not a valid workaround, since the explanations of the fields for watch face settings are only some technical symbols without any understandable meaning. Not usable at all.

Coleman - one thing Garmin needs to learn from this is to be more transparent - it's taken a few days, several tweets and emails to get even acknowledgement of the issue

I am aware of the express bug too, think it has already been reported in the past but also never fixed.

One workaround I know is if you switch your Windows language to English, then the setting descriptions appear normal.

At least this is what I discovered when I had a look at this issue in the past.

  • English (UK) - this is a real pain! Like others have said can you not roll back until the bug is fixed or do i need to change the language on my phone to Dutch every time I want to make a change?

Many thanks for this. Makes me kind of speechless..

It’s not an ideal trick I agree. I just played around and Dutch was the one I tried. Keep in mind I don’t speak it, just understand enough of it not to lose my way around my iPhone settings!

Probably another non-english language may behave the same, I don’t know, just saying Dutch was the only one I tried, there might be more.

English (Canada) here. I live in Quebec, Canada, which is a french speaking province. If I switch my iPhone to French (Canada), I can change now change Connect IQ app settings.
  • Hi Coleman.ConnectIQ I am using UK English on iOS.
