ANT Stick in MAC Simulator

I'm sure this has been asked, but I cannot find in the forums.
Is there Mac(Mojave) directions to attach an ANT Stick for use with the IQ Simulator?

There are instructions for linux in the guide but no Mac

this is what the Mac sees.

  • I'm on Mac now, and SDK 4.1.7. The simulator did see my Garmin ANT USB dongle for a while, then it stopped. Restarting the simulator, VSC or even the Mac (both restart and shutdown) didn't help. I know the Dongle works because I see it in the Mac and even Garmin Express sees it (and yes, I did quit GE properly) so the problem, as usually is in the simulator.

Did anyone else see this thing, that the simulator doesn't see the dongle for days?

  • Have not tried my ANT stick in a while.   I will have to try it again I have a newer MacBookPro running Ventura 13.1.  Maybe it will?  I know Ventura has USB permissions now, so I will have to approve the device.

  • I also have Ventura 13.1. I don't know about the USB permissions, but since
    1. I do see the USB stick in Garmin Express
    2. It did work yesterday with the simulator
I guess that the permissions are not my problem.

  • Well, I still don't really know what/why happens, but I realized that since I added background to my app, ANT doesn't work for devices that do have background, however it does work for old devices like epix, fenix3.

So this might be a bug related to simulator and background (or in my code)
