I made a request to the app store team a while back to have some kind of bug reporting system that will allow developers and users to communicate directly without exposing private contact information. It's been written up, and I know it on the list of the things they would like to consider, but I don't believe there is a specific plan in place yet. For those of you familiar with Agile, a story has been written, but it hasn't been assigned to a sprint yet.
Maybe I can use all of the recent discussion as leverage to get it moved onto the schedule.
Please Brandon, that would be perfect. As we get more users, we get more feedback... and I would love to be able to answer questions. I have had a couple of rather angry mail from users that felt I just ignored them :-(
Hmm, I´ve got the same issue :( My Application works flawlessly within the simulator. On my Vivoactive it sometimes reboot the whole device. Mostly in onTap-Event (I´m just calculating a bit). Sometimes while stop ActivityRecording. Confirmation-Dialogs are not working at any time. I´m max. at 40kb in the simulator and include lots of "has"-Workarounds to avoid any issues. I own that device and also can do nothing but guessing, investigating and trying...
So, even if you would have all that devices, you are furthermore looking into a not debuggable blackbox. Even if you send me your Application, and I send you mine, we can only guess what is causing the errors.
My very best on until yet: A linebreak after a closing curly bracket in a class will not start the Application, as well as linebreak within the XML´s!
I agree that developers should be able to respond to negative feedback. I am pretty sure this has been requested as an improvement to the ConnectIQ Store.
Sorry for the bump, but this make it into the ConnectIQ Store roadmap?
I had somebody comment on one of my apps that it doesn't work on their Vivoactive. As I own a Vivoactive, and used that as my benchmark for "working", I'm a little confused, so would be great to try and found out what's going on.
I don't have much visibility into the store roadmap. I do know that they are working on preventing devices from pulling down apps that were built with a newer SDK without first updating the device software. I know there are a lot of bad reviews flying around from users that are running old VivoActive software that did not properly support ConnectIQ.
And I for one has considered to remove support for it. Else developers get Blamed for it and it's especially frustrating given that we have no control over the reviews, the simulator and the comments despite our best efforts to support it as well as stating explicitly that the reviewer needs to head over to the forums (where all Garmin users are Alry a forum user)
That and the Garmin App Store ain't really a place one gets to monetize
