App store: Description text limit validated after CAPTCHA (changes could be lost)

In the app store, when you edit the details, the 4000-character limit to the Description/What's New text is checked after you solve the CAPTCHA. This has been a bit annoying in the past, but at least your text was preserved and an error message was displayed

Now it looks like there's been a change and your changed text is just gone from the form. Luckily, it's cached in the browser history, but it's still scary to almost lose an edit that was thousands of chars.

It would be really nice if the text limit was validated before you press Submit. I know there's a million workarounds for this (i.e. edit in separate text editor, although it's never been clear to me how unicode chars are counted), but there's also workarounds for the forum issues, and they're still not fun.

Other times it just seems that edits are rejected/lost for no reason (this could actually be the same as the first issue, I can't tell). It appears this has something to do with recently updating the app, as the store seems to think I still need to enter a new description for the recent update. I finally got around this issue by closing all browser windows and using incognito mode.

The process can be very frustrating.

I will try to avoid going on another rant, but as a hobbyist dev who was very passionate about my watch, this kind of thing is very disheartening. The amount of effort just to update an app or post on the forums is off the charts.
