I'm afraid that you currently have to manually check the store periodically.
There have been a number of requests for a special grouping for the new and/or updated applications in the store, but I don't know the state of this (and I think it is a different group of developers than the Monkey C folks that you meet here in this forum).
Tonny is correct: the app store development is handled by another team here at Garmin, but we work closely with them. I have passed on suggestions to them, and will continue to do so. Please post any ideas you have that you think might improve the app store experience for developers or for customers. I can't guarantee that every suggestion will be implemented, but any reasonable idea will definitely be considered.
There are already plans to add some kind of "newly added" app listing. I don't know any details about how it will work, but we've had a lot of interest in this so it's something being designed and developed.
