Obtaining lap information through the SDK

Hello:

In Toybox::Activity::Info I can access to some average data as for example averageCadence or averageHeartRate referred to the current activity. But what about if I want to access to these kind of average data but referred to the current lap? Has the API any method to do that?

There's no API to do that directly, but with onTimerLap() can be calculated in a data field. if you are doing a device app, the app marks the laps (addLap()) so it knows when they occur.

Unfortunately you have to calculate lap averages yourself.

Also, note that even though "workout steps" are seemingly indistinguishable from laps as far as the FIT activity record and native metrics go, they have a separate event in CIQ which is only available in CIQ 3:

If you don't handle onWorkoutStepComplete(), users will observe that your lap metrics are wrong for workouts.

Thank you for the answers. I would like also to detect when the timer starts again after a pause. I see the method onTimeStart() https://developer.garmin.com/downloa...nstance_method This method "is called when the activity timer goes from a stopped state to a started state". Can I use this method for detecting a timer start after a pause (from autopause or other way to pause)? Means "from a stopped state" also "from paused state"?

The best way to see what onTimerXYZ is used for things is in the sim. Under the "Data Fields" menu, there is "Timer" where you can trigger various things.
