Monetization of watch faces

I read the previous posts on this, but nothing is newer than 2016.
So I was wondering if things changed or are changing with the 3.0 SDK and future.

Is there a way to "sell" or having people donate for a full version of a watch face? Basically making a base version or test version available and then ask to donate for a full feature one.
The Garmin TOS is kind of not clear around this, and I don't know if they actually do enforce it.

In the New Developer FAQ sticky, see point 3. Basically, you can talks about pay versions/donations in the app store within the description, but not in the forums.

The 3.0 SDK doesn't change this.

App trials were announced back in April 2017, but are just now being activated, but that's more for partners and not individual developers the way I understand it, as you have to apply, have your own payment system (not just paypal), etc.

In the last couple of months, there was a post here with real-life posts by long term developers as far as charging for apps/asking for donations. All I can say, is don't expect more than a beer or so a month!
