Timer won't stop

I have a simple Timer which I want to stop once certain validations are complete via HTTP, but it won't stop.

To initiate:

appStartTimer = new Timer.Timer();
        appStartTimer.start(method(:appStartCallback), 1000, true);

On completion of the validation process (a successful HTTP response):
appStartTimer.stop;
The stop code is being hit (I have a Sys.println before), but it fails to stop (I have a Sys.println in appStartCallback)

Running SDK 2.3.3 on a VA-HR fw 4.0

Should that code snippet include some parentheses '()' after stop?

Yes. It should be:
appStartTimer.stop();

Hmm, OK, that fixes it. Misinterpreting the doco.
I wonder why I didn't get a compile- or run-time error?

No error, because it's a valid statement. It just doesn't do anything.

hi, i have a similar question: i did the same code but i to stop the timer i used the command stop(). Compiling and running on th simulator it works fine but on the real device stop() does not stop the timer!! What is the magic??
