Device Limits

I can't seem to find this information published - how many data fields are allowed per device. I have 3, so I know those. See my table, attached.

Also, are the memory limits for widgets and apps different than data fields? Or do they share the 26KB and 122KB limit? community.garmin.com/.../1255237.jpg
  • Most watches allow 2 CIQ DFs in an activity, with the exception being the 735 (and maybe the Epix) which allows 3. The edge 10x0, Oregon, and Rino support 10.

As far as size, CIQ 1.x devices are 16k, most 2.x watches, 26k, and then things like the f5x and non watches, quite a bit more.

The size allowed for DF's is often different than that for widgets, watch-apps, and watch faces. CIQ 1.x devices, it's 64k for each type, but in 2.x watches, it's 58k for widgets, 58k or 90k for watch faces, and 122k for watch-apps (again, the f5x and non-watches are different)

I don't think there's a chart anywhere, but you can see the max memory for the device and app type in the sim, and that info is also in devices.xml, so you can look at that and see the specifics too.
  • We have some device-specific info in the Appendix of the UX Guide (which will soon be merged into the programmer's guide), but we don't have data field limits documented anywhere. It's a good addition, so I've made a ticket to get this included at some point.
  • The 735xt with it's 3 simultaneous datafields rocks:)
