Connect IQ 2.3.3 drawText with Transparent background problem when using own fonts

I have a watch face that works fine under Connect IQ 2.3.2 and uses its own font created with BM Font. When I use the standard drawText function after having previously called setColor function to set the foreground colour to blue and the background to COLOR_TRANSPARENT the text draws as it should. With connect IQ 2.3.3 the 'TRANSPARENT' background is now white.

Has anyone seen this issue ?

I have zipped up a simple watch face showing the problem. This sample works fine with 2.3.2 but fails with 2.3.3

yes, I'm seeing the exact same thing with my watch app, just as you describe (except my foreground color was also white so I didn't narrow it down as much as you - thanks!). it fails on most of the simulator watches i've tried but i notice it works as before on the Edge 1030 simulator.

I have uploaded a beta of my app and then downloaded onto a Fenix 5 with 5.40 middleware and it seems to work perfectly on the device! So it looks like it is a simulator only problem. If you use your own fonts it is very difficult to test your application the way it is now.

Garmin is already working on a fix. It's only in the sim for 64 color devices, and works fine on a real device.

Hey,

I just wanted to confirm what jim_m_58 is saying. We are working on this fix right now. It's limited to the sim using 64 color devices and 1-bit custom fonts. Use on the actual device should be fine. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The 2.3.4 SDK doesn't have this issue anymore, in my watch app at least.
