Call another app from this app?

I'm getting perilously close to the memory limits on my app - peak 110kB, and I still have lots of features to add. I realize the app really has two pretty distinct phases, so I'm thinking about splitting it into two separate apps.
But I don't really want to bug my users by forcing them to switch between apps, so my question is: How do I call a second app from the first?
I suspect it isn't possible, but I thought I would ask the question.

There's really no easy way to do what you're asking about, and if there was, the second app couldn't access the first app's data, etc.

If you can't rework your code to make it smaller, you have another option. Use a different target. The Fenix 5X.

I don't know if it will meet your needs, but the Intents system was added to ConnectIQ to start a target application and pass some data to it.

Ha! I think you are both right:

Travis: the System.exitTo targetApp works brilliantly on the sim, and the spec indicates that I can pass data from one app to the other.

Jim, it totally fails on the VA-HR!

I have put it in a try/catch, but nothing is caught.
I definitely have the identified app on the watch.
Any ideas?

I tried both flavors of the manifest_id, with and without the hyphens:
"manifest-id://D7263291252F45DAA6132E0F272F4CFF" ,
"manifest-id://D7263291-252F-45DA-A6132E0F272F4CFF" ,
with the same result - the System.exitTo(targetApp) was just ignored.
Interestingly, both flavors worked on the Sim???

If, on the watch (and the sim) I pass an incorrect manifest_id, I get the expected AppNotInstalledException.
So it knows my target app is installed, but doesn't know how to start it!

what you're doing seems to be correct to me, so it looks to me to be a bug on the va-hr.
create a simple test app (well in your cases 2 test apps, one calling the other) and post in the bug reports forum.

I said it wouldn't be easy... Have you looked at how much data can be passed from app1 to app2? And what types can be passed?

I'm guessing it isn't a large amount.

Also bear in mind, things like the ObjectStore and Settings aren't shared between the two apps
