The app work fine when I run it on the simulator, but when I run it on my Forerunner 235 the device allways crashes on the same place. Anyone know how to find out what causes it to crash? Im new with Connect IQ, dont know what Im looking for in the ERR_LOG file.
err_log.txt is written when the watch itself crashes - Is that's what's happening? If so provide a few more details on what your app does, as crashing the watch itself isn't that common. What type of app, and what's it's memory usage in the sim? Also, in the sim, use file>view memory - what are your peak memory and object usage?
Garmin is really only only ones that can dig much into err_log.txt file
for CIQ apps, in \garmin\apps\logs is ciq_log.txt. Might be worth looking there in case somethings shows up. Normally when a CIQ app crashes, you'll see "IQ!" on the screen, but the watch itself won't crash.
The memory usage is 45.6, peak memory is 52,2kB and Object Usage 132. The watch reboot at the same place everytime, is it because of high memory usage?
Ok, so what is the app doing when it crashes? A bit more info would help. memory and object wise, you should be ok And in most cases, if you run out of either, it will be an IQ! crash of just the app.
Oh, one other thing.. Have you tried a hard reboot? (not a reset).
Hold the light button until the watch powers itself off (~30 seconds) and then turn it back on.
Its an app for tracking score when playing disc golf. It works fine when I track score for just one person, but when I try to add more players it crashes when I try to push the ScorePicker.
You may want to post in the bug report forum (the proper format for a post is in the sticky post on the top). and email Garmin the source your project. You app shouldn't cause the watch to crash.
