Start activity or segment event

Is there the possibility with a widget to detect the following event?
- Start of an activity
- Stop of an activity
- Start of a segment and update versus your record
- Stop of a segment and report the results

No, there is no system-wide notification system for this kind of thing and there is no API for polling this data either.

What a pity! It would be great to start a live stream or a video capture when a favorite segment begins.
