Developing an improved Alarm Clock

I am new to this forum and to Garmin development, hope you can help me out:

I want to develop an alarm clock app with multiple alarms and additional features. However, it seems like applications "die" after the user exists them. Would the callback to Timer.start() be called when the timer expires even if the user exited the app? If not, is there some other way to create an alarm clock?
In a way I guess I'm asking whether there's any form of multi-processing support in Garmin's OS.

This is not possible right now. You need ConnectIQ to support some sort of callback mechanism (like the timer) that would fire and run code from your application while the application was not running.

There has been some talk of this, but I've seen no evidence of it in the SDK.

Alarms are something potentially on the horizon. We've talked about this quite a bit, and we know that it's something many people are interested in, but it didn't make the cut for our recent releases.
