Is there a plan to allow hooks/APIs to call upon the standard Garmin developed data fields and displays from within a user developed app? I'm planning on developing an app similar to the Ski/Snowboard app and it would be nice to have some App specific pages along with user definable data fields that are like your regular running/cycling/ski fields.
Well it's either this, or developing a custom full screen data field to be used within a Garmin define sport profile, however that would hinder the workings of the app as there can be no persistent data, etc.
The only third option is to roll our own display field set and handling from scratch which does not sound too promising either...
