Oregon 7x0 - Fit files crash when uploading to GC after using CIQ data fields (ePwr)

When using the Oregon 7x0 FW 3.3 everything is fine. But when installing a CIQ datafield like ePwr the fit file upload to Garmin Connect crashes. Both ways: via Bluetooth and Android, or manually via Garmin Express or Drag and drop in Windows.... the fit file seems to be corrupt.

When removing the activity on the device and removing the data field everything seems to be ok again.

Anybody has a hint? Does the extra data field crashes the fit file? All other users seem to have no problem at all. Is this a compiler/version issue? Read somewhere, Oregon needs Version1.2, but fit file module works from1.3. on.....

Thx
  • Perhaps the Oregon device does not support FitContributor class (similarly as the Epix watch). ePwr adds two record types as float values (estimated power and %grade). ePwr is verified to work correctly in FR920, Fr935 and Fenix3. it was last complied with v2.1.6.

    Hey,

fitContributor is supported on the Oregon 7x0 line. It does indeed sound like something is corrupting the fit file when you are using fitContrib on the Oregon. The current VM the Oregon supports is 2.2 so you should have no issues there. Is this happening regardless of the datafield you are using?
