Output of an widget

Hi,

I am considering to write a widget which can capture time stamps. I could store those time stamps in the object store. Nevertheless, I am wondering how user can grab those time stamps. Is it possible to write it in a file which can been post processed from e. g. excel? But then I am wondering how the user can grab this file. Are there any good ideas how user can easily get to the time stamps?

you can write to a file with the debug trick.
create a file named the same as your prg file with extension txt in the log folder and use println to do the output, not very fast though and you can't read it back in programming wise...

You could write the data in a FIT file. This would be cleaner than writing to the debug file because it would store a separate file every time you use it and it would automatically get uploaded to Garmin Connect if that was helpful. It's easy to grab the fit files by just plugging in the USB and navigating to the activity folder too.

I have written a spreadsheet that imports fit files and extracts the Moxy data I want from the fit file. This uses the FitToCSV tool from the FIT SDK to parse the fit data. The VBA would need a bit of tweaking but the principle is there.

Is the fit file uploaded every time the fit file is changed by the widget? I didn't even know about that widget's can write (in) a fitfile. My mistake. I forgot that widgets can't use the FIT contributor. It would need to be an App or Datafield.
