Ending an app - the watch crashes

Hi,

I am not very experinced in writing an app. I do a session recording and want to end the app on user request via a user menu. If the user does this, my entire FR935 hangs and can only be resetted.

Do I have to wait some time until I release sys.exit()???

I can't spot anything wrong with your code...
...well there's no need to set the session to null..., but that shouldn't cause an error I think.

it's not standard behaviour to use a menu to exit an app. Is there any particular reason why you want to use a menu to exit the app instead of implementing the onBack event of the delegate?

I don't think the watch crashes , it's just frozen as your app is still running

Try doing 2-3 Ui.popView() calls instead of Sys.exit(). Once you pop the main view, your app ends. II just checked, and in a menu delegates I seem to always do 3.

Hi Jim,

I inserted some popViews but this did not work. The app hangs and this state can only be resolved by starting the watch newly. Interestingly I had no argument at first for the popView which showed my an IQ screen but the app did finish saving the session and I could exit the app by pressing return button. Any suggestion what to do next?

When you got the IQ! screen, it means your app crashed (due to lack of a parameter I'd guess). How many popView() calls are you doing? You could try doing a few more (it kind of depends on how many views your app has and how you manage them) Another thing could be to set a boolean or something in the menu delegate, and then in onShow(), for the view, check there, and try Sys.exit() or the popView() calls there.

I am doing 5 popViews. I don't understand your second suggestion.

Instead of trying to exit from the delegate, set a flag so you exit from the view. onShow is a spot I've used in the past to do this.

Hm, I did this already but the app still crashes. Would you mind to review the code? I would zip it and upload it to my dropbox...

Nearly all of the input handling in the program is being done from within the view onUpdate() method. I'm not exactly sure why, but this seems to cause some problems. It is possible that there is an actual bug here, but I haven't been able to put my finger on it.
