Eclipse (Windows) Build for device wizard doesn't run

I'm using Eclipse Neon 4.6.3 with ConnectIQ SDK 2.3 on Windows 10. The simulator works, but the Build for Device wizard does not start (Eclipse does not provide an error message, only a generic pop-up "making Eclipse better" or similar).
The same Eclipse version on Linux with ConnectIQ SDK 2.2.5 however, has a working Build for Device wizard.

Does anyone recognize this? I'd much appreciate input on how to get the Build wizard working on Windows.
  • strange, I suppose you already tried to remove and reinstall?

does the app export wizard work?
  • The App Export Wizard runs. I had not tried remove and reinstall, will do that now.. ..as soon as I have found a way to uninstall Eclipse. On Windows, I feel like a fish without water!

I agree that this is strange behavior. Were you using the Beta version at any point? Do you know if you have the 2.3.1 plugin and SDK installed and not a beta version of either? If you did have the beta version of either, did you uninstall the plugin before installing the new plugin? Eclipse can be a little "sticky" with the install process and sometimes doesn't clean all of the config info out for all of your work spaces. The only reason I ask about the beta stuff is that our beta version will not let you export for the store which would explain what you are seeing. Does the 2.3.1 SDK let you export on Linux? Just trying to pin-point the issue.

    Thanks,

  • It must have had something to do with the Eclipse install (I installed it again), and the Build wizard does run now. Thanks a lot guys!
  • great first rule of support did the trick :)
