manifest.xml - copying one project to start another

Hello,

When copying another project to start a new one, I see that both projects have the same id string in the manifest.xml. Is this a problem? Do I need to generate a new id and paste it in?

In the future I will probably start a new project and copy the files across, rather than importing a copy of the project as a whole.

Just gen a new UUID for the new project. It should in the programmer's guide.

Thanks. Looks like I will have to generate a new ID for an app already uploaded. I hope that it doesn't have any repercussions.

D'oh! I cannot change the UUID for the app already uploaded.

The following errors were detected in your app file

The app-id within the manifest-file deviates from the one originally registered for this app.

you will get an error when you upload another app with the same uuid (one of the reasons is that the app url in the store will also contain the uuid of the app, so you can not have two that are the same )

but i don't understand why you want to change the uuid of the one you already uploaded. why not change the one that you did not upload yet and leave the one uploaded untouched?
(if you really want to change the already uploaded one, then you can delete and upload)
