ConnectIQ - Negative nonsense reviews

I have made a few connect iq apps and even though mainly for myself I like to share them... But it can be quite frustrating when reviews are bad for no reason at all. (Especially if you hardly get reviews, so it takes the score down pretty fast).

For example a recent 2 start review for my compass widget, because it doesn't stay on all the time and goes back to the main screen after a few seconds. So basically, because it's a widget. Unfortunately, that was my second review so didn't help with the average.

Reviews like 'doesn't work well' and a 1 star are also annoying because you just can't do anything with it.

Really no clue what can be done or what to do about it, but it IS frustrating when you are a bit helpless with these things after spending time and effort to make something. And especially when it's because the user doesn't know how his watch works...

  • For reviews that are way off (I've had users post about a completely different app for example) you can report the post and it probably will be removed.

    Another trick I've used is right near the top of the app description, include a note that if a user sees a bug to use "Contact Developer", and a link to something like an app-specific thread in the Showcase forum if there are questions. Near the top so a user doesn't have to click on "more".
