"Uninstall Failed" when updating watchface

I am getting "Uninstall Failed" when updating watchface through the connect app.

If I go to the website, download the watchface and then sync with the connect app, then the update works, but not if I initiate the update by clicking the "update" button under my watchface in the connect app.

I am assuming there is something I can do as a developer to fix this???

  • Actually, it's not something you can fix. It's the same thing where you can't uninstall a watchface with GCM if it's the active one. On GCM/iOS, when you hit "update" (at least today), the app is pretty much being uninstalled and reinstalled, so your settings also get reset.

    If you update with Garmin Express, no settings are lost. And there is no "update" in GCM/Android. It's a manual uninstall/reinstall there.

    There are a number of threads about this, and probably a few things in the bug report forum.
