Large font of the original watchface...

...does anyone know the name of the (large and relatively thin) font for the original watchface of the Forerunner 935? Or does anyone have a custom font file with that font?

I'd like to do a clone of this watchface because I really like it.
  • If it's like other fonts on the f5/935 it's a "Garmin Special" (there are a few threads about that in the forum).

The simplest and easiest thing to do is find a font like it (or maybe one you like better) and use that as a custom font, and not worry that it's not an exact match.

Thanks for these hints, jim_m you are doing a fine job here :)
There are two issues is to get "perfect" bitmap, most of the fonts have to be squeezed a little bit to get characters with less width and it seems to be also difficult to make antialiasing with just 4 shades in gray as good as possible.

Here's the actual state for doing a nice font...

  • I usually just find something on 1001freefonts.com if I need a custom font, and do a bit of pixel editing to the png if something needs a bit of cleaning up.
