This is exactly why I stopped being a CIQ developer. Too frustrated to be either a developer or end user.
Any news? I'm actually tired of using a workaround with NanoHTTPD server and watch talking to that server.
The SDK provides a README.html file that lists user-facing changes and bug fixes that go into a release. You can always look through that file to see if an issue was addressed.
That said, there has been no change in the status of the referenced issues.
The CIQ Android Mobile SDK is doing virtually no work in this regard, it just talks to a Garmin Connect app through AIDL interface to delegate the communication. Hence I believe the Garmin Connect app is the actual place where the root cause of this bug is.
And that's why I'm asking about any work on this in the Garmin Connect Android app, since its "What's new" section doesn't contain any info except generic bug fixes and improvements.
Everything worked perfectly fine in the simulator, started receiving FAILURE_DURING_TRANSFER error on the device. I was losing my mind debugging this issue, turns out it's a bug. Tsk tsk Garmin!!
Seems like the reliable alternative is to use makeWebRequest
